Seaver Wang’s academic training in oceanography makes him a knowledgeable source for discussing Japan’s release of tritiated water from Fukushima Daiichi into the Pacific Ocean, a process that began last week. In addition, Wang, the co-director of the climate and energy program at the Breakthrough Institute,  discusses future demand for metals and minerals, “radiophobia,” the challenges facing nuclear power, solar supply chains, and China’s “cultural erasure” of the Uyghur population in Xinjiang province.
